2020 NCAA Division I Men's Cross Country All-Academic Athletes
The Men’s Scholar Athlete of the Year and All-Academic Individuals for the 2020 NCAA Division I Cross Country season were announced on Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Conner Mantz of BYU was named the Men’s Scholar Athlete of the Year for the 2020 NCAA Division I Cross Country season. Mantz, a junior from Smithfield, Utah, with a 3.77 GPA in Mechanical Engineering, won the individual title last month at the 2020 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He is the first athlete in program history to earn this honor and is the first in history from the West Coast Conference.
Overall, there were 187 men who were named All-Academic Individuals in NCAA Division I.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and have either qualified for the national championship meet or finished top-5 at their respective conference championship.
