2021 NCAA DII Women's Indoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 3

NEW ORLEANS – Another weekend of strong competition changed the landscape of the third installment of the 2021 NCAA Division II Women’s Indoor Track & Field National TFRI that was released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday afternoon.
The top teams remained fairly in tact with a slightly different look. The remaining changes occurred throughout the remainder of the ranks from several teams making multiple spot jumps.

No. 1 Grand Valley State, No. 2 Minnesota State and No. 3 Central Missouri all held its respective ranking for the second-straight week. No. 4 West Texas A&M and No. 5 Southwest Baptist traded places from one week ago as the only changes taking place in the top-5.
It was business as usual for Grand Valley State as the Lakers continued to add to its haul of nationally ranked marks. The Lakers notched seven marks over the weekend that are ranked in the top-5 nationally: Nicole Sreenan improved upon her No. 1 time in the 60 (7.41); Ellianne Kimes in the pole vault (No. 1, 4.16m/13-7 ¾); Klaudia O’Malley in the mile (No. 2, 4:49.03); Judith Essemiah in the weight throw (No. 2, 19.33m/63-5); Hannah Roeske in the 3000 (No. 3, 9:32.16); Taryn Chapko in the 800 (No. 4, 2:12.22). Sreenan was also part of the Lakers’ 4×400 that registered the No. 1 time in 3:44.76.
Minnesota State was able to bolster its position at No. 2 with several nationally ranked marks. Denisha Cartwright led the way with a new national leading time in the 60H (8.62) and the second fastest 200 (24.40c/24.78). The Mavericks’s also picked up two of the top-5 performances in the 400: Mackenzie Woodard is No. 3 at 56.10c (56.84) and Mackenzie Keune is No. 5 after running 56.52c (57.27).
The fourth-ranked Lady Buffs improved one spot from Week 2. West Texas A&M continued to turn in quality marks, this time adding a DMR to its arsenal. The quartet clocked 11:47.49c (12:16.66A), which is currently the No. 2 time this season, at the Adams State Grizzlies Open.
Here are the remaining teams that make up the top-10 in Week 3: No. 6 Pittsburg State, No. 7 Lee (Tenn.), No. 8 Tiffin, No. 9 UC-Colorado Springs and No. 10 Colorado School of Mines. The Orediggers jumped 18 spots after claiming three top-5 marks, including the top time in the 5000 by Zoe Baker at 16:33.68 (17:16.41A).
The 2021 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships are scheduled for March 11-13 at the CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama.
