NAIA ITF National Athletes of the Week (Feb. 24)

The NAIA National Office announced its sixth National Athletes of the Week selections for the 2021 indoor track & field season on Wednesday.
Landon Miller of  Indiana Wesleyan was named Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week after winning  both the mile and 5000 in meet records times at the Crossroads League Indoor  Championships this past weekend. Miller went 4:11.59 in the mile and hit  14:27.27 in the 5000.
Taylor Bottomley of Central Methodist (Mo.) was named Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week  after winning both the shot put and weight throw at the Heart of America  Athletic Conference Indoor Championships this past weekend. Bottomley hit  16.81m (55-2) in the shot put and 19.03m (62-5¼) in the weight throw.
Avery DeWolf was  named Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week after winning four events at the  AAC Indoor Championships. DeWolf earned top honors in the 1000, mile and 3000  as an individual and helped the Buffs break the AAC Championships record in the  DMR.
Destiny Copeland of Indiana Tech was named Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week after  winning both the long jump and triple jump at the WHAC Indoor Championships.  Copeland set a new NAIA season best in the long jump at 6.19m (20-3¾) and hit  12.16m (39-10¾) in the triple jump.
