2021 NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 3

NEW ORLEANS – The top teams in the NAIA remained unscathed in Week 3.
While no changes occurred among the top-5, the movement of eight teams shook up the rest of the ranks of this week’s 2021 NAIA Women’s Indoor Track & Field National TFRI released Wednesday afternoon by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

For a second consecutive week, the top-5 is No. 1 Indiana Tech, No. 2 Concordia (Neb.), No. 3 Hastings (Neb.), No. 4 Dordt (Iowa) and No. 5 Friends (Kan.).
The top-ranked Warriors solidified its position by taking four of the top-5 nationally ranked spots in the pentathlon. Kylin Nichols now holds the national lead in the event at 3488, followed by Leondra Correia (No. 3, 3457), Renique Smith (No. 4, 3390) and Destiny Copeland (No. 5, 3330).
Concordia (Neb.) added to their haul with several nationally ranked performances. Josie Puelz cleared 4.08m (13-4 ½) for the No. 1 pole vault this season. Other strong performances include Sarah Lewis in 60H (No. 4, 8.88), Elle Luehr in the shot put (No. 5, 13.35m/43-9 ¾) and Sarah Ragland in the weight throw (No. 5, 16.77m/55-¼). Indiana Tech’s 4×400 also boasts the No. 2 time in 3:54.37c (3:57.48).
Dordt (Iowa) and Friends (Kan.) each had athletes turn in some of the top performances in their respective events. For the Broncos, Lauren Tamayo ran the second fastest 60H of the year in 8.83. The Defenders own the top two spots in the 600: Mika Kooistra improved upon her already No. 1 mark (1:34.55c/1:35.70) with Annika Rick right behind at No. 2 (1:34.63c/1:35.79).
Here are the rest of the teams that make up the top-10 in Week 3: No. 6 Huntington (Ind.), No. 7 Southeastern (Fla.), No. 8 Huntington (Ind.), No. 9 William Carey (Miss.) and No. 10 Morningside (Iowa).
The 2021 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships are scheduled for March 4-6 in Yankton, South Dakota.
