2021 NCAA DI Women's Indoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 2
NEW ORLEANS – It’s business as usual for Arkansas.
The top-ranked Razorbacks continued to pile on big marks and increase its lead over the rest of the field in the second edition of the 2021 NCAA Division I Women’s Indoor Track & Field National TFRI released Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Arkansas continues to be chased by No. 2 Texas A&M and No. 3 Georgia, who remain unchanged from a week ago. No. 4 Southern California jumped up two spots to make its first appearance within the top-5 this year, while Texas dropped one spot to No. 5.
The Razorbacks earned 3 more top-10 nationally-ranked marks, bringing their season total to 24 after two weeks of competition. Arkansas turned in 8 marks that sit within the top-5 of their respective events, including four national leading marks: Paris Peoples in the 400 (52.48); Lauren Gregory in the mile (4:35.69); Katie Izzo in the 5000 (15:36.22) and the 4×400 also improved upon their No. 1 time (3:30.80).
The second-ranked Aggies remain unchanged and now has 12 top-10 marks following their weekend at the Texas Tech Classic. The biggest showing for the Aggies was from Tyra Gittens, who was more than impressive in her first pentathlon of the season. Gittens scored 4612 points, making her the third best performer in collegiate history. She also cleared a national-leading 1.91m (6-3¼) in the high jump during the pentathlon, matching the 21st best performer in collegiate indoor history in the women’s high jump. It was also the 5th best mark in collegiate history to come out a pentathlon high jump.
Georgia is headlined with 12 marks that rank in the top-10 nationally. Five of those marks came from performances this weekend at the Razorback Team Invitational and are ranked among the top-5 in their respective events: Imani Carothers in the 60H (No. 1, 8.06); Jessica Drop in the 3000 (No. 2, 9:03.29); Jasmine Moore in the triple jump (No. 2, 13.80m/45-3½); Anna Hall in the pentathlon (No. 2; 4590); Kayla Smith in the pole vault (4.35m/14-3¼). The aforementioned Hall also turned in an all-time mark in the pentathlon, as she is now the fourth best performer in collegiate history.
Southern California is the newest face in the top-5 after a handful of nationally ranked marks. Top performers this past weekend for the Trojans include Nicole Yeargin in the 400 (No. 2, 52.51), Morgan Smalls in the high jump (No. 6, 1.82m/5-11½), and Jan’Taijah Ford in the 400 (No. 7, 52.89); Twanisha Terry in the 200 (No. 9, 23.35); Jasmine Jones in the 60H (No. 9, 8.17).
Texas rounds out the top-5 teams at No. 5 in Week 2. The Longhorns earned one top-10 mark from the weekend to bring their season total to nine. Kristine Blazevica turned in a score of 4057 in the pentathlon, good for No. 6 on the Descending Order List.
The remaining top-10 teams for Week 2 are No. 6 Texas Tech, No. 7 LSU, No. 8 BYU, No. 9 Alabama and No. 10 Baylor.
The next National TFRI will be released on Monday, February 8th and continue until the 2021 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held March 11-13 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
