2021 NCAA DIII Women's Indoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 1

Wartburg has that in droves, which is why the squad is ranked No. 1 in Week 1 of the NCAA Division III Women’s Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index, released on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

After just one meet, the Knights own 21 different national top-10 marks, including 12 that take up residence in the national top-5. Breya Christopher is the only national leader in the group in the high jump at 1.69m (5-6½), but Alanna Muhammad (60), Taylan Olson (400), Aubrie Fisher (3000), Sailor Hinegardner (60H) and Daekota Knott (triple jump) are all ranked No. 2 in their respective events.
John Carroll opened its season this past weekend and comes in ranked No. 2. The Blue Streaks own six national-leading marks, among others: Taylor Anthony in the 60, Lucia Cannata in the 200, Sydney Jenko in the mile, Cameron Bujaucius in the 5000, Maria DeLuca in the long jump and Courtney Phoenink in the triple jump.
Hope is ranked No. 3 and has its distance corps to thank. The Flying Dutch, led by two-time National Athlete of the Week Anastasia Tucker, have 12 national top-10 marks in events ranging from the 800 to the 3000. Hannah Kenny, along with Tucker, is a national leader.
Dubuque begins the season at No. 4. The Spartans see Olivia Costley (400), Caroline Ferguson (shot put) and Kaytlin Wilder (weight throw) top the NCAA DIII Descending Order List in their respective events. Dubuque has eight more ranked in the top-10.
Bethel (Minn.) rounds out the top-5. While the Royals only have one national leader in Kelsie Sealock (60H), four others rank among the national top-5, including two who are tied at No. 3 in the pole vault (Sadie Koelz and Jessica Lilland).
Here are the rest of the top-10 teams in Week 1: No. 6 Ohio Northern, No. 7 Hamline, No. 8 Rose-Hulman, No. 9 Hardin-Simmons and No. 10 Lynchburg.
