2021 NCAA DIII Men's Indoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 2
NEW ORLEANS – The NCAA Division III Men’s Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index will continue to evolve as more teams open up their seasons.
Such was the case for the Week 2 edition, which was released on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Wartburg remained No. 1 in Week 2 and is followed by Loras at No. 2. John Carroll held steady at No. 3 and is followed by No. 4 Nebraska Wesleyan and No. 5 Dubuque.
The Knights continue to headline the National Rating Index with their 14 national top-10 marks. Athletes have starred across the board for Wartburg so far in 2021, as it has seen multiple top-10 performances in the mile (x3), 3000 (x5), 5000 (x2) and the 60H (x2). Joe Freiburger and Dallas Wright continue to top the chart in the 5000 and 60H, respectively.
The Duhawks opened their season this past weekend and quickly made a statement. Loras put up four national-leading marks, including two of which that belong to Josh Smith – 60 (6.88) and 200 (21.86c). Mike Jasa is the national leader in the 800 at 1:51.11c (1:52.70) and the Duhawks’ 4×400 relay team surged to the lead at 3:19.17c (3:22.34).
The Blue Streaks cemented themselves in the top-5 thanks to nine top-10 marks. Garrett Clark and Deven Ward have starred for John Carroll so far as they both sit top-6 in the 60 and 200. The Blue Streaks also have the nation’s top DMR squad at 10:04.03.
The Prairie Wolves jumped into the National TFRI at No. 4 following their debut. Nebraska Wesleyan holds 10 top-10 marks nationally, including a national leader in the 400 thanks to Kyle Dickinson’s 49.01c (50.28) effort this past weekend.
The Spartans dropped one spot to no fault of their own. Dubuque has seven top-10 marks nationally, including six in the field events alone. Clayton Hahn and Zachary Naatz are lynchpins for the Spartans in the field, owning a pair of national top-10 marks in the throws.
