2021 NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 3

NEW ORLEANS – The top teams in NAIA seemed to be fairly unfazed by the changes that occurred over the past weekend of competition, according to the latest installment of the 2021 NAIA Men’s Indoor Track & Field National TFRI that released on Wednesday afternoon by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The top-5 only saw one change in Week 3: Indiana Tech will remain No. 1, with No. 2 Dordt (Iowa) and No. 3 Doane (Neb.) trading places from Week 2. No. 4 Concordia (Neb.) and No. 5 Saint Mary (Kan.) will round out the top-5.
Dordt (Iowa) received a boost in the rankings due to turning in the top-ranked 4×800 in 7:44.56c (7:51.20). One of the contributing legs, Matthew Van Eps, also clocked the No. 5 time over 600 in 1:20.77c (1:21.98).
While Concordia (Neb.) and Saint Mary (Kan.) remained idle, the Spires pulled closer to the Bulldogs after two top-3 performances from Corey Lyons and Eric Vazquez: Lyons took over the national lead in the 400 (47.21); Vazquez clocked the No. 3 time in the mile (4:12.014).
Here are the rest of the teams that make up the top-10 in Week 3: No. 6 Friends (Kan.), No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan, No. 8 Hastings (Neb.), No. 9 Taylor (Ind.) and No. 10 Mount Marty (S.D.).
Indiana Wesleyan was the big mover after soaring 16 spots from Week 2 as it turned in three top-3 performances that vaulted them into the top-10: Landon Miller in the 3000 (No. 2, 8:16.29c/8:22.06) and Chris Maxon in the 5000 (No. 2, 14:41.79c/14:51.23). Both were contributing legs to the No. 3 DMR in 10:08.59 (10:16.85).
The 2021 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships are scheduled for March 4-6 in Yankton, South Dakota.
