2021 NJCAA Men's Indoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 3

NEW ORLEANS – All quiet on the NJCAA Men’s Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index front. Well, mostly.
There was one change to the top-5 teams in Week 3, which was released on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The top-ranked Tritons extended their lead in the National Rating Index thanks to a bevy of strong performances this past weekend. Notably, Iowa Central CC added eight national top-10 marks to its haul, including two each in the 800 (Kelvin Bungei at No. 7, Pur Biel at No. 8) and shot put (Ellis Trainor at No. 8, James Mackey Jr. at No. 9).
While the second-ranked T-Birds and the third-ranked Warriors sat idle, the now fourth-ranked Texans made a statement. South Plains (Texas) notched 12 national top-10 marks, including an NJCAA-leading effort in the high jump from Romaine Beckford at 2.20m (7-2½). Other than that, the Texans received No. 2 billing in the 60H (Justin Guy), 4×400 relay and the pole vault (Thomas Nieto).
Here are the rest of the top-10 teams in Week 3: No. 6 Iowa Western CC, No. 7 Coffeyville CC, No. 8 Cowley College, No. 9 Vincennes (Ind.) and No. 10 Northwest Kansas Tech.
Remember: The 2021 NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships are scheduled for March 4-6 at the Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, Kansas.
