NOTE: In lieu of the canceled NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, Wartburg College has created the DIII Elite Championships. Invited to compete on March 12-13 will be the regular season’s top-16 individuals and top-12 relays, as verified by TFRRS Descending Order List.
Wartburg held steady at No. 1 for yet another week. The Knights own 15 national top-10 marks, including new and improved efforts from Dallas Wright to No. 2 in the 400 at 48.66c/49.43 and Christopher Collet to No. 6 in the 3000 at 8:21.83c/8:27.66, among others.
UW-Oshkosh is the only other team that remained in place from Week 3. The second-ranked Titans hold 13 national top-10 marks, which includes No. 1 performances from Jaylen Grant in the 60 at 6.88 and the 4×400 relay squad at 3:16.50c/3:19.63. Sprinters have certainly carried UW-Oshkosh in 2021 so far as they have accounted for seven of the team’s top-10 marks.
UW-Whitewater soared into the top-5 for the first time this season. The Warhawks come in at No. 3 after a five-spot jump from Week 3. Even though UW-Whitewater only has eight national top-10 marks, seven of them reside in the top-5 with Curtis Pfeil and Lucas Skaaland both leading the way at No. 2 in the long jump and triple jump, respectively
No. 4 Loras and No. 5 UW-La Crosse both shifted down one spot – as did several others – to coincide with the Warhawks’ rise.
Here are the rest of the top-10 teams in Week 4: No. 6 John Carroll, No. 7 Central (Iowa), No. 8 UW-Stout, No. 9 Gustavus Adolphus and No. 10 Mount Union.
