2021 NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 4

NEW ORLEANS – Although the top-3 teams remained intact, there was some movement in the fourth installment of the 2021 NAIA Women’s Indoor Track & Field National TFRI that was released on Wednesday afternoon by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Indiana Tech remains No. 1 after posting or improving 10 top-10 performances over the weekend, which included a new No. 1 ranking in the 4×400 relay (3:49.12). The Warriors also had five marks inside the top five as senior Sha’londa Terry clocked times of 24.54 in the 200 and 7.59 in the 60 to put her at No. 3 and No. 4 nationally. Senior Loanie Cellard also posted a new No. 1 in the 3000 race walk, while the Tech triple jump squad had exceptional performances this weekend as they now own the No. 2, No. 4, and No. 5 rankings.
Concordia (Neb.) continues to hold down the No. 2 ranking as junior Rachel Battershell now owns the top spot in the 400 clocking a time of 56.44c (57.19). The Bulldogs also boast eight additional top-five rankings that include all three relays and a No. 2 ranking from sophomore Josie Puelz in the pole vault.
Hastings (Neb.) stays at No. 3 for the fourth straight week. The vertical jumps squad had an outstanding weekend as senior Abigal Collingham cleared 3.92m (12-10¼) and fellow senior Tiersa Darley cleared 3.66m (12-0) in the pole vault to put them at No. 3 and No. 6, respectively. Junior Lauren Tamayo posted the new No. 5 spot in the high jump at 1.67m (5-5¾) to round out the exceptional vertical jumps performances over the weekend.
William Carey (Miss.) moved up four spots to No. 4 after the sprints/hurdles squad produced five top-10 performances last weekend. Senior Aniekeme Etim led the way with a new No. 1 mark in the 200 at 24.32 to add to her belt as she also owns the No. 2 spot in the 60. Fellow senior Brittany Jones continues to hold down the No. 1 rankings in both the long jump and triple jump as well as the No. 5 ranking in the 60.
Dordt (Iowa) rounds out the top five after dropping from No. 4 last week. The Defenders had four top-15 performances over the weekend, led by the DMR squad that came in at 12:24.07 (12:32.04) for a new No. 3 ranking.
Here are the rest of the top-10 teams in Week 4: No. 6 Friends (Kan,), No. 7 Huntington (Ind.), No. 8 Wayland Baptist, No. 9 Southeastern (Fla.) and No. 10 Morningside (Iowa).
The 2021 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships are scheduled for March 4-6 in Yankton, South Dakota.
