NAIA OTF National Athletes of the Week (April 7)

The NAIA National Office announced its National Athlete of the Week selections for outdoor track & field on Wednesday.
Bralyen Brewer of Bethel (Kan.) was named the Men’s Track Athlete of the Week. Brewer set a PR in the 400 of 46.92 and helped the Pilots’ 4×100 relay squad finish second at the Loren Reusser Invitational.
Taylor Bottomley of Central Methodist (Mo.) was named the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week. Bottomley broke two school records at the CMU Invitational with big efforts in the hammer throw (55.88m/183-4) and shot put (16.43m/53-11).
Lauren Tamayo of Hastings (Neb.) was named the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week. Tamayo earned four wins at the Bronco Invitational, taking first in the 100H (14.23) and helping the 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams to victory.
Addie Shaw of Concordia (Neb.) and Summer Travis of Cumberlands (Ky.) were name co-Women’s Field Athletes of the Week. Shaw won the hammer throw and shot put at the Bronco Invitational, while also placing second in the discus. Travis won three throwing events at the Good Friday Challenge, taking top honors in the discus, hammer throw and shot put.
