NAIA ITF National Athletes of the Week (Feb. 17)

The NAIA National Office announced its fifth National Athletes of the Week selections for the 2021 indoor track & field season on Wednesday morning.
Ben Jefferies of Briar Cliff (Iowa) was named Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week after continuing his undefeated season this past weekend. Jefferies won the 200 at the Mount Marty Last Chance Meet in 21.98.
Ineh Emmanuel of William Carey (Miss.) was named Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week after sweeping the horizontal jumps at the Samford Invite this past weekend. Emmanuel soared a school-record 7.79m (25-6¾) in the long jump and bounded a season-high 15.64m (51-3¾) in the triple jump.
Rachel Batterschell of Concordia (Neb.) was named Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week after winning the 400 at the Concordia Invitational with a national-leading 57.19. Batterschell also finished third in the 60 hurdles at 8.99.
LaVon Davis of Grand View (Iowa) was named Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week after sweeping the throwing events at the St. Ambrose COVID Season Finale. Davis won the weight throw at 18.37m (60-3¼) and the shot put at 13.38m (43-10¾).
