The Marines Named Presenting Sponsor of USTFCCCA’s High School Coach of the Year Award Program
NEW ORLEANS — The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is pleased to announce The United States Marine Corps as the presenting sponsor of the USTFCCCA’s High School Coach of the Year Program.
“We are thrilled to have the Marine Corps join us in honoring the best high school coaches in the country,” said Sam Seemes, CEO of the USTFCCCA. “The values of honor, courage, and commitment that are the foundation of the Marine Corps aligns to the strengths and characteristics of those who excel at coaching the sports of track & field and cross country. It makes perfect sense that we come together to celebrate the nation’s best in high school coaching.”
“The Marine Corps is proud to partner with the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association,” National Director of Marketing & Communications, Marines Corps Recruiting Command LtCol Christian Devine said. “We look forward to recognizing the National Coaches of the Year in track & field and cross country as well as sharing our values and exchanging leadership experiences with USTFCCCA member coaches and officials at the annual convention.”
Started in 2014, the USTFCCCA High School Coach of the Year Program recognizes the best high school boys and girls coaches our sports offer, both at the state and national level. A boys and girls coach from each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia are chosen at the end of each respective season as state-by-state winners — and from there, those 102 honorees are vetted and two national award winners are selected.
Eleven different coaches from nine different states have been named National High School Cross Country Coaches of the Year, while 12 different coaches from nine different states have been named National High School Track & Field Coaches of the Year.
National Coaches of the Year are honored each year at the annual USTFCCCA Convention.
Recipients of the 2020 National High School Track & Field Coach of the Year award will be announced next Tuesday, July 28, at 11 am CT.
